If I was told I could only buy jeans, t-shirts, and rad accessories for the rest of my life, I would be more than okay. Sure, I love pretty dresses and fun tops, but I always feel my best in jeans and a tee. This classic combo is my everyday go to, but if it’s not styled right it could get boring REAL fast. That’s why adding a WOW item is a must. Let me introduce you to my smiley face clutch. It is everything to me right now, and it was only $30 on Etsy. I found the BEST affordable etsy shop, MAISONDECOCO. She carries the coolest items; bag straps (which are so in right now), hats, clutches- all at affordable prices and all WOW items that can take your jeans and tee game to the next level.

Let’s talk about my jeans for second. I just got these Mother Denim Jeans and they are a dream. They make it look like I actually have some junk in the trunk (HAYYY), and they fit like a mf* glove. HELLO NEW FAV DENIM COMPANY. This BABE top (currently on sale) is perfection. The second I saw it I had to have it. And also, before you judge me I am not calling myself a babe with this top. I LITERALLY only call my fiancé BABE. I don’t even remember his real name anymore- that’s how long I’ve been calling him Babe. (KIDDING) In all seriousness, whenever you are feeling in a rut with your jeans and tee game- just add an WOW piece that makes you smile. : ) Thanks for stopping by peeps. Can’t believe fall is officially here!

YOU GUYS. I NEVER KNEW I COULD LOVE SHOES SO MUCH!!!(actually I can, because it happens everyday of my life, but I like being dramatic.) Last year when I first saw these I laughed at how ugly there were. Flash forward to this summer and I couldn’t wait to get back to the city to buy them. I love that I can wear them with sweats to walk the dogs (chicest dog lady on the block- thank you very much) with jeans or even a dress to go out to dinner. Who knew furry shoes could be so versatile AND practical?!?! In par with the pajama trend, I decided to pair them with a simple, white shirt dress that I found in Amsterdam. There’s something so magical about purchases made in other countries. The item will always hold a special memory, and the VAT refunds are always nice. ; ) This Celine Trapeze was my first big girl bag. I wore the sh*t out her EVERYDAY for an entire year. I really think if anyone is looking to splurge on a great everyday bag, she is perfect. She holds so much (like even a water bottle) and the shoulder strap is a game changer when carrying her around the city. LYLAS girlfriend. (SIDE NOTE: I did notice that with Celine Trapeze bags- the indents are going to happen- so just deal with it.) All in all I was really happy with how this look came together. You will be seeing these shoes ALOT on the blog, so learn to appreciate their unique beauty. PEACE, LOVE, & FURRY GUCCI LOAFERS

Sweating has never looked so good

Working out is my drug. I HAVE TO sweat everyday. It not only makes me look better, but it makes me feel better mentally, and physically. I NEED IT. Lucky for me I work at Tracy Anderson. If you know me, you know my obsession with the method. It is hands down the most effective workout in the entire world. Call me biased- but it’s true. I work at the studio about 5hrs a day, 5-6 days a week in a 86 degree 65% humidity room. Talk about SWEATING. I love it, there’s nothing that a nice sweat can’t fix, BUT at the time same time it’s hard to feel cute when you’re sweaty all the time. This is where stylish workout clothing comes in! Thanks to companies like Bandier and Carbon38, buying amazing workout clothing is so much easier. The days of Lululemon being the leader are over. BYE BYE. I don’t know about you, but when I get new leggings or a sports bra, I am that much more excited to workout. The amount of leggings that I have is actually a sick joke. The even sicker joke is that I only really wear 5 of them. I love high waisted, with a thick waistband that is flat. (meaning no tiny waist band at the top) I hate it when the waistband cuts into my stomach.  My current obsession in leggings are ones by Beyond Yoga. They have the best waistbands, are so soft and breathable, and are totally affordable. Bras are tricky, it’s such a personal purchase. I hate feeling too constricted, but still need some support for my small boobies. Michi always does me right. They have such edgy styles, great fabric, and a perfect fit. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, APL shoes are dabomb.com. They were actually banned from the NBA for providing the players with an “undue competitive advantage” (too much bounce). My personal favorites are the APL Ascends. There are a lot of lateral movements in TA dance cardio, and these do the trick. I highly recommend checking this brand out. They have so many styles that are pretty enough to wear if you are going for an athleisure look, and don’t even want workout. To finish off this blog post, I encourage everyone to workout!! You’ll never regret it. Find a schedule/workout that works for you, and stick to it. There’s no excuse now that you can look cute while doing it!

Can we all just take a moment to celebrate the return of Gucci. Nowadays, you can’t scroll through instagram without seeing Gucci on a stylish influencer. Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci has done a brilliant job of bringing Gucci back to life. THANKS DUDE. I literally want SO many pieces that it’s giving me a mild panic attack. If you would have told me this time last year that I would purchase a belt with a Gucci logo on it, I would have laughed in your face. I felt like wearing “Logos” was something I left behind in the early 2000’s (except for Chanel, the interlocking C’s are timeless.)  Madison Rae circa 2015 summer into fall was dead wrong. Logos are back, and I’m not mad about it. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect belt for a while now, like years (not even kidding). But nothing really got me excited until I saw this beauty. I mean, how perfect is she?! I love her, and I’m so happy that I waited for the perfect one. For this look I paired her with my favorite jeans (COH Rocket), a lovely Rag & Bone off the shoulder top, Gucci Mules, and a classic Chanel WOC. I was a little hesitant to pair a logo with another logo, I didn’t want to look like a complete douchebag. But when I put everything together, I loved the pop of red with the look, so I went with it. I hope everyone is enjoying the change of seasons. Can’t wait to share how I style her next. Side Note-I’m digging the trends right now, off the shoulder and chokers. Please stay for a while.

All Summer Sixteen

AND another Summer has come and gone just like that! I swear the older I get the faster time goes by. I spent majority of my summer out in The Hamptons, which was lovely, but I am so excited to be back in the city again. I’m getting married in March, so once fall rolls around wedding planning will be in full force! I CAN’T WAIT!!! I’m really going to try and be more consistent with my blog posts. This is something I really enjoy doing, so I might as well give it my all. Now lets talk about my outfit. I call this my “nothing to wear outfit.” This summer, when I felt like I had nothing to wear I would come to this outfit. I don’t know what it is about this shirt, but I f* love it. Honestly, I don’t even know what the shirt says, but I don’t care. It’s so comfortable and it looks cute with anything. Leather pants, jeans shorts, suede skirt. You name it, it looks good. Find a vintage tee and never let it go. I promise you will get so much use out of it, you’ll want to buy 100 more. In terms of denim shorts, I hit the jackpot. Finding the perfect pair is so much harder than you think. By the grace of the gods, I found these babies at Urban Outfitters about 8 years ago. They are Vintage Levi’s and I LIVE FOR THEM.  I also LIVE to pair classic, elegant pieces (i.e Chanel) with more laid back outfits (i.e jeans and a tee). Classic Chanel shoes/bags always help take your outfit game to the next level. That’s why I LOVE to invest in their pieces. DUHHHHHHHHH

Guys!!!! I want to tell you about an amazing NATURAL beauty product line that I recently discovered called Kopari. It’s made with 100% organic coconut oil and is sulfate, silicone, paraben, GMO, and toxin FREE! If you’re a summer gal like me, you spend A LOT of time in the sun. As amazing as the sun is, it can really dry you out! Your skin, your hair, even your feet. I’m so happy I found a one stop shop product line to help me moisturize, exfoliate, and shimmer all the way from my head to my toes.

Organic Coconut Melt  Hair mask, body moisturizer, and shaving “cream” all in one. I am obsessed with this. I rub in all over my body right after I get out of the shower. I even put it on my dog Eugene before bedtime to help with his dry skin. SMELLS DELISH.

Coconut Sheer Oil – Besides having amazing organic coconut oil it also contains anti-aging properties, never to early to start preventing wrinkles.  I started using this as a face moisturizer, and I love it.  It gives you a sexy dewy look that is perfect for the summer. You can also use it as a makeup remover, cuticle moisturizer, or to help tame those pesky hair flyaways.

Coconut Crush Scrub – If heaven had a smell I think it would smell a little like this. I use this all over my body in the shower a couple times a week.  I also started using it on my bikini area, and it’s really helping keep in grown hairs in check.

Coconut Body Glow – Who doesn’t love a good body shimmer!?! This stuff is the perfect amount of shimmer and sheen.  Apply before the beach/pool for a sunshine shimmer, or at night for some extra sparkle.

The time is finally upon us, Hamptons Season is here! I wait for this weekend all year long. It’s my favorite time of the year, and I couldn’t be more excited. My fiancé and I are renting a house in Southhampton for the entire summer. This is a new experience for us. The previous 3 years we rented in Westhampton, and only for June and July. We loved Westhampton for it’s beachy vibe and the fact that we were basically on the beach but Westhampton is super sleepy, and far away from other parts of the Hamptons (more importantly Tracy Anderson.) This summer we wanted to try something new and I am pumped! I will be spending most of summer out there with my furry babies, working at Tracy Anderson and living in my bikini. Jim, my fiancé will come out on weekends and take his 2-week vacation out there in August. We normally travel in August, but since we are planning our wedding we decided to stay put for the summer. As much as I wish it was going to be 80 degrees and sunny, Memorial Day weekend is always a little cooler out east. I will still be packing my swimsuit, but unfortunately, I don’t think I will be able to live in it YET. I’m really making an effort to lighten up my wardrobe.  I tend to buy black a lot, just because I know it will get great use in other seasons.  But this summer is all about whites and lights for me. I started packing and wanted to share some essentials that I am bringing for my weekend out east.

  1. Summer Bag: I was in desperate need of a white bag.  I originally had my eye on a cross body bag, but when I stumbled across this Chanel bag on The Real Real, I had to have it.  AIN”T NO SHAME IN SECOND HAND GAME.  I like nice things, and if I can get them for a fraction of the cost I will. I love her.  She’s such a clean, classic bag, and a perfect size for a bag lady like myself.
  2. Boyfriend Jeans: To me, The Hamptons have a super laid-back vibe. We spend most of our time hanging out at our house or beach, working out, or going to early dinners in town.  I love being comfortable and chic at the same time and I think boyfriend jeans do that for me.  My favorite pair at the moment are Citizens of Humanity in the Liya cut.  They are high waisted and beyond comfortable. Pair those with cute flats and a white sweater, and you’re good to go.
  3. Classic Flats:  Nothing says classic flats more to me than a pair of Chanel Ballet Slippers or Espadrilles. They go with practically anything, and are so great for walking around town.  I love heels just as much as any girl, but I barely ever where them out east.  I prefer flats over sandals any day; I think they offer a more put together look.
  4. Workout Clothing: BIGGEST DUH EVER.  I am not scheduled to work at Tracy Anderson this weekend, but you better believe I will be there taking class.  It’s summer people, working out should be a part of your daily life!!!!! Not only for the physical benefits, but for the mental benefits as well.  I get most of my workout clothing from Bandier, Carbon38, or Tracy Anderson Studios.
  5. Sun Hat: I use to be the girl who would put baby oil on to get a good tan.  I would fry my face and body like wrinkles weren’t a thing.  Now that I’ve matured and learned how damaging the sun can be I’ve become smarter about being in the sun.  I always wear sun block, and I cover my face 90% of the time by wearing a hat.  Even though the sun won’t feel strong this weekend, I will still make sure to wear a super cute sun hat to protect my face.  Who knew a cute sun hat could make you chic and responsible at the same time!
  6. Kopari: My new favorite summer product line.  All the products are made with 100% organic coconut oil. YUMMMMYYYY. This product line is amazing! I’m so obsessed.  I’m going to do an in-depth post about it soon, but check them out in the meantime.  Our skin is the biggest organ on our body, we should be aware of what we put on it. Plus, who doesn’t want to be a well-moisturized human and smell like a coconut at the same time.

Am I Parisian chic yet?

No one does effortless chic better then the Parisian Woman. They always seem so perfectly undone and done at the same. Classic mixed with stylish edge. What women wouldn’t want to embody that? This weekend while shopping in Soho, I decided to stop into the IRO store. This stripped t-shirt was on my spring wish list and I wanted to try it on. It’s better than I could have imagined, the perfect boyish fit. In typical MRAE fashion, I went in for one thing and ended up falling in love with everything. This brand is my new obsession, I can’t wait to add more pieces to my closet. I ended up pulling the trigger on a cream, tweed jacket. I’m preparing my wardrobe for the warmer months, and really want to add lighter pieces to my closet. I know this jacket will get incredible use. It’s an instant chic-a-fier. What does that mean you ask? A piece that you put on that instantly makes you look chicer. I might have a slight shopping problem, but I am a good shopper. I always make sure to buy things that I know I will wear time and time again. I go in with a mindset of building my closet with quality things that will last, over having a bunch of junk that I will give away next year. The second you realize that, the less you will complain about having nothing to wear. Whenever I buy something new, the excitement overwhelms me and I need to wear it ASAP. My new purchases came together perfectly to create a “Parisian Style” inspired Easter outfit. Jim and I ended up spending Easter Day with our good friends Stacie and Phil. We had brunch at Marea uptown, and headed to Central Park to walk around. We finished the night off stuffing our faces with our favorite Chinese food, Red Farm. It was the perfect outfit, for a perfect day, with perfect people, in a perfect city. I may never be as cool as a French girl, but I’m okay with that. I’d rather be a New Yorker anyway.

A Retired Birthday Brat

unnamed-4IMG_0078IMG_0132IMG_0144I used to be OBSESSED with my birthday. In my mind, the week of my birthday was my birthday.  A seven day celebration of the birth of Madison Rae. “BOW DOWN PARENTALS AND BESTIES. It’s my birthday week. I want a party, and presents, and all the attention on me, me, me.”  A full on birthday BRAT. This past February I celebrated my 26th birthday. Something about this year felt different. Entering the second part of my 20’s really made me reflect on my life. I am by NO means trying to be dramatic and say that I am getting old. I am well aware that I am still young, but being closer to 30 than 20 is just crazy to me.  I remember days of my childhood like they were yesterday, but yet I am 26 and getting married next year. I am an actual adult and that’s just insane to me.  I live a beautiful life with my wonderful fiance, and 3 doggies that I love so much. I have my health, my parents, and great family and friends.  I am so grateful for everything over my last 26 years on earth. The ups and the downs, the highs and the lows. Everything has lead me to this exact moment in life, and I couldn’t be happier. This year my birthday fell on a Saturday, which means I was able to have Jim, my fiance with me during the day.  He works a lot, so having him for a full day is always a special treat.  I started the day off being treated to hair botox from my bestie, Stacie. Hair botox is basically keratin minus the chemicals.  It eliminates frizz, and excuse my french but it’s fucking magical. After that I had a small little birthday brunch at one of my favorite brunch spots in the city, Le Bilboquet. This place has my favorite nicoise salad (with a side of fries), and killer bloody mary’s. The vibe is stuffy upper east side(which I LOVEEEE), with a dash of downtown cool.  EPIC people watching. The weather was surprisingly perfect, so picking out my birthday outfit was easy. I opted for my favorite new Reformation star skirt, and my go to leather jacket. I’m obsessed with all things star printed right now. Stars are everywhere; handbags, shoes, jeans, dresses, everything! I obviously chose to wear flat boots so I could walk around and shop after brunch, DUHHH. At night Jim and I ordered Koi delivery, and hung out with our doggies. It was the perfect end to a perfect day. I still love my birthday, and I’ll always be a brat. But the days of “Birthday Bratting” are behind me.
